The Confirmation

Ana has her first line infection. The cultures are growing Gram Negative Rods... a bacterial infection. Once the bacteria has been identified and the proper antibiotics are started, we will hopefully be able to go home. The doctor said the I.V. antibiotics can be administered at home and we may be able to go home by the weekend. They feel they can save the line if they get the infection under control. Today they will begin ethanol locks in the Broviac to help treat the infection. Ana's fever has not come back today!!! Please say a prayer for her!
